July 7, 2023

Forest City Gear is proud to recognize several employees for their long-term dedication to the company: Joe Konetski (10 years) and Wayne Potts (10 years).

Joe Konetski is Forest City Gear’s Cut Teeth Only Value Stream Process Engineer. In this role, Konetski’s main responsibilities are reviewing the technical data for all Cut Teeth Only orders, designing work holding, and ensuring the proper cutting tools are available. This requires deep knowledge of all of Forest City Gear’s manufacture and inspection capabilities, in order to effectively communicate with customers on specific requirements. Konetski has worked as a setup technician for a wide range of gear cutting and grinding machine during his tenure at Forest City Gear. And in 2017, Konetski graduated from Forest City Gear’s four-year Apprenticeship Program, conducted in cooperation with Rock River Valley Tooling and Machining Association.

Wayne Potts is Manufacturing Engineer, focusing on processing, producing, and working with customers on Make Complete repeat jobs. Wayne began his career with FCG as Night Shift Supervisor, during which he oversaw all production activity and helped train individuals. He was quickly promoted to Secondary Supervisor, in which he helped further develop the department with new techniques and processes to handle the ever-increasing complexity of parts that FCG produces. In 2018, Potts was promoted once again to the Engineering Department as a Make Complete Process Engineer. He was able to quickly learn how to process complex parts and utilize the tools available to him for making challenging decisions for the many major OEM customers that FCG works with.
