Forest City Gear, an industry-leading manufacturer of fine- and medium-pitch custom gears, is pleased to share that a recent gift of $2,500 pushed the lifetime personal and corporate donations to the AGMA Foundation to more than $100,000. Established in 1994, the AGMA Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to bettering the gear manufacturing industry through four pillars: scholarship, workforce development, education, and emerging technologies.

“We run strictly on personal and corporate donations,” says AGMA Foundation Executive Director, Mary Ellen Doran. “We do so much more because of the support of our members. Forest City Gear’s support is the quintessential example of why annual giving is so important. It really does add up over time,” she added.

Forest City Gear President Kika Young and sister and shareholder Mindy Young were recently among a group of 15 donors honored at a AGMA Foundation special event in Napa, CA. The group was comprised of some of the longtime donors and volunteers of the organization.

“Philanthropy is a central tenet to FCG’s philosophy for success,” says Kika Young. “We support a variety of not-for-profits, locally and nationally—but the AGMA Foundation is one very near and dear to our hearts and of great importance to the ongoing improvement and growth of the industry as whole. Funding the AGMA Foundation is a very tangible way to invest in the advancements of workforce training and education within the gear industry—training offerings which we regularly take advantage of for own our staff! The scholarships the Foundation offers are another altruistic way to support the up-and-coming generation in their education within the industry. Giving to the Foundation is an easy way for us to champion the advancement not just of our own company, but of the industry as a whole. $200K here we come!”
