Forest City Gear, an industry-leading manufacturer of fine- and medium-pitch custom gears, celebrates the career of Gene Fann, Gear Technology Manager, who has transitioned to partial retirement after nearly 40 years with the company.
Fann’s career at Forest City Gear spans almost four decades, during which he became a cornerstone of the company’s engineering and gear technology operations. Known for his technical expertise, innovative thinking, and willingness to mentor others, Gene has played a pivotal role in advancing Forest City Gear’s capabilities across aerospace, defense, robotics, and other critical industries.
“Gene is one of the great gearheads of our time and we consider ourselves immensely lucky that it’s FCG that he’s chosen to call home for so many years,” says Kika Young, President of Forest City Gear. “My parents appreciated and respected Gene for decades and my sisters and I are ever thankful for his abilities. We’re especially fortunate that while he’s scaling back his role, he’ll continue to share his insight and expertise with us as a consultant.”
This summer, Fann began the transition to his new role as a part-time consultant, ensuring continuity and support for Forest City Gear’s ongoing projects. The company extends its deepest gratitude to Fann for his remarkable contributions and looks forward to continuing to collaborate with him in this new capacity.
