Forest City Gear Expands Turning and Milling Capabilities with New DMG MORI CTX Beta 450 TC

February 10, 2026

Forest City Gear is excited to announce the purchase of a DMG MORI CTX Beta 450 TC, a significant investment that marks a major step forward in the company’s turning and milling capabilities.

The addition of the CTX Beta 450 TC brings advanced multitasking flexibility to Forest City Gear’s shop floor, allowing multiple machining operations to be combined into a single setup. For complex part configurations—Forest City Gear’s bread and butter, this consolidation reduces the need for multiple setups and separate inspections. That means fewer handoffs, tighter tolerances, and happier and customers.

“This machine gives us the ability to do more in one place,” says Jared Lyford, Director of Operations at Forest City Gear. “By combining turning, milling, and gear operations, we can streamline processes that previously required multiple machines, without sacrificing precision.”

The CTX Beta 450 TC is also equipped with the full suite of DMG MORI gear software, including skiving capability. This further expands Forest City Gear’s ability to consolidate operations, opening the door to more efficient production of complex gear geometries and tighter control over critical features.

As with all equipment investments at Forest City Gear, the goal isn’t just having the latest machine on the floor—it’s using the right technology to deliver consistent quality, improved lead times, and reliable results for customers with demanding gear applications.
