This change comes after receiving feedback from current and prospective employees that working third shift provides a better work-life balance. Third shift hours allow employees to spend time with their families during dinner or after-school hours, whereas second shift scheduling requires them to be working during that time.

Anderson’s Japanese Summer Festival is an annual celebration featuring exhibits, demonstrations, and unique performances for all age groups, meant to foster a better understanding of Japanese culture. Some of this year’s festival activities include musical performances, tea ceremonies, and demonstrations in traditional archery, calligraphy, and swordsmanship.

Services will be held Sunday, July 23 at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 4301 N. Main St. in Rockford, IL. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m.

The Rock River Valley Blood Center supplies the total blood needs for 13 area hospitals; this requires collecting more than 800 units of blood per week to fully meet patients’ needs.

Nadcap accreditation will allow Forest City Gear to offer a short lead time on orders needing MPI, as parts would stay in-house and shipping to an outside tester will no longer be necessary. According to Amy Sovina, Quality Assurance Manager, “Our new Nadcap accreditation and now offering MPI in house is another way we are continually improving our process and putting our customer and their needs first.”
